My approach to counseling is grounded in compassion and understanding; I seek to cultivate a safe therapeutic environment to allow flexibility in exploring individual needs. The ultimate goal is to respectfully explore your human experience and discover a path of authenticity. Learning to cope with the human experience is a necessary foundation. Doing so helps people learn to manage their stressors in order to gain understanding of those behaviors that no longer serve them in a healthy way, leading to a potentially improved life experience and allowing them to move forward in their lives in alignment and confidence in discovering who they are and what they want in life.
About Me
My name is Jo Anna Shotiveyaratana (Sho for short). I am an experienced, Licensed Professional Counselor who practices an existential and multicultural approach to counseling. I have specialized in working with adolescents and adults, but I have experience working with people of all ages as well. Areas I work in include grief, anxiety, trauma, depression, substance abuse, spiritualism, and sexual identity (LGBTQ+ affirmative). I have extensive experience with traveling both nationally and internationally with the main purpose in creating a well balanced worldview and respect for cultures and identities.
