Quality Measures

Quality measures are tools that help measure and track the quality of health care services provided by health care professionals, clinics and hospitals within the PQA health care network. These measures use data associated with providers’ ability to deliver high-quality care or relate to long term goals for quality health care.

Tracking and reporting quality measures helps to ensure that our health care system is delivering effective, safe, efficient, patient-centered, equitable, and timely care.

Tobacco use screening and counseling

Preventive Care and Screening: Tobacco Use: Screening and Cessation Intervention

Percentage of patients aged 18 years and older who were screened for tobacco use one or more times within 24 months AND who received cessation counseling intervention if identified as a tobacco user.
